  Secretariat fans waited 39 years for this historic release. We are proud to introduce the the first print available to the public documenting the corrected official time in the 1973 Preakness Stakes. This never-before published image of Secretariat celebrates each of his track record performances in the Triple Crown. With the Maryland Racing Commission's 2012 ruling correcting Secretariat's time in the second jewel of the Triple Crown from 1:54 2/5 to 1:53, the Meadow Stable champion became the existing Preakness Stakes record-holder and was retroactively recognized for establishing a new track record at Pimlico for the 1 3/16 mile distance. The unprecedented ruling allows this amazing racing accomplishment to join the still existing stakes and track record performances in the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs (1:59 2/5) and the Belmont Stakes at Belmont Park (2:24). It is highly unlikely this feat of sustained excellence through the grueling test of the Triple Crown will ever be duplicated. The image selected for such a special occasion should match the achievement and the moving image by the late great photographer Ken Regan (who also shot the famed TIME magazine cover of Secretariat) fits the bill. This recently rediscovered photo captures Secretariat with jockey Ron Turcotte aboard in the famous Meadow Stable silks immediately upon crossing the finish line in the 1973 Preakness. Secretariat's flaming chestnut coloring is clearly reflected, further enhanced by the radiant tones of the late afternoon Baltimore sun. Each Triple Crown race and the corresponding record time are notated below and we particularly like the serendipitous layout of how Secretariat's front left hoof points directly to the new corrected official Preakness time of 1:53.
