  Continuing the Secretariat Festival tradition of a kick-off gathering where locals and out-of-towners alike can experience Kentucky hospitality at its best, please join us Nov. 10 at Canonero’s Bourbon Bar located at 713 Main St. in downtown Paris. Beginning at 4:00 p.m., the esteemed whiskey-themed establishment will serve as the official Friday party place where Festival-Goers can catch up with old friends and meet new ones. With its distinctively southern speak-easy atmosphere, Canonero's welcomes Festival guests with an extensive selection of fine Kentucky bourbons and crafted cocktails as well as beer, wine, and the evening’s signature libation, the “Big Red,” served along with an optional collectible Secretariat Triple Crown shot glass. Attendees will be provided with a sumptuous variety of Bluegrass-themed hors d'oeuvres and culinary favorites. Starting at 8:00 p.m., the evening crowd can enjoy live music in the lounge and sample Canonero's wide variety of premium cigars. Canonero’s was named in honor of the unlikely winner of the 1971 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes, Canonero II. How good was he?... Known as the "Caracas Cannonball,” it was Canonero II's existing track record at Pimlico that Secretariat eclipsed in his 1973 Preakness Stakes victory.
