TIME Poster

Click to enlargeLife-Size TIME PosterDid you ever wonder how big Secretariat actually was... well now you can see for yourself!

In early June of 1973 history was made when the equine champion Secretariat, in the midst of his winning Triple Crown campaign, was featured in the same week on the covers of the national publications, TIME, Newsweek, and Sports Illustrated. Not only was this massive publicity and media attention extraordinary in the annals of horse racing, but also unprecedented for any sports figure ... before or since.

It was the TIME cover in particular which drew the most publicity to this legendary racing icon and provided the classic image which remains engraved in the consciousness of America three decades later. The cover shows Secretariat at the peak of his racing career in the famous blue and white checkered blinkers representing the Meadow Stable. These prized collectible magazines can command up to $1000.00 each on the secondary and auction markets when they occasionally become available.

Printed with the same meticulous attention to quality and detail displayed in the original cover, the piece was proportionately enlarged and produced to the EXACT measurements of Big Red from the personal archival records of his owner Penny Chenery. It is a graphically dramatic tribute showing the champion in all his glory at actual size!

Measuring 28" x 22" and printed on the finest heavy stock. Available with the option of being hand-signed by Secretariat's Hall of Fame jockey, Ron Turcotte.
